Mrs. Arika W. VanHees, 97, Ft. Myers, Fla, died Wednesday at Ft. Myers. She was born April 7, 1886 in the Netherlands. The former Arika Hilgers married Henry VanHees Sr. in the Netherlands. He died Feb 8, 1960. Mrs. Van Hees moved from Grand Haven to Ft. Myers nine years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include two sons, Henry VanHees and Frank VanHees, both of Ft. Myers; a sister, Miss Antoinette Boer, Netherlands; seven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Arrangements are by the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Arika W. VanHees, age 97, will be conducted 1:00 p.m. from the Lee Memorial Chapel at Lake Forest Cemetery, with Rev. James Scholten officiating. Internment will follow. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
