Looking for the ancestors or siblings of Alfred H. Smith

Alfred H. Smith was the son of Alfred and Anna Smith, born in New York City on May 9, 1822. He married Hannah Knapp, and was residing in Peekskill, Westchester Co, NY in 1842. There he fathered two sons; Augustus and Elias. In 1844 he is listed as purchasing land in the town of Kent, Putnam County, NY. In 1847 Hannah passed away and he moved the family to Milwaukee to work as an engineer. Here he ran the engine in the first paper mill operated in the city. Alfred also married a lady named Emeline and had a son named Amos. A year later the family moved to Two Rivers, Manitowac Co, WI. Alfred continued working as an engineer in Two Rivers. About 1851, his wife Emeline passed away from Cholera, which raged in that region. Losing his second wife within four years must have been difficult for Alfred. He moved his three sons down to West Bend, Wisconsin where he would be near to his first wife?s family (Knapp) that moved there in the spring of 1846. Alfred married Anna M. Carman from England and he also purchased 80 acres of land and became a farmer. Later he purchased an additional 20 acres bordering Little Cedar Lake.
